DESCRIPTION

This webinar will provide a review of Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) Reference Centers services and procedures as well as an update on the global and domestic status of VPDs. APHL and CDC will review current topics and trends in the viral VPD landscape in the U.S. and provide guidance for public health laboratories as they strategize testing plans. Speakers will also provide an overview of the newly developed Neisseria meningitidis rt-PCR triplex assay, its advantages and public health laboratory usage.

OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of the program, the participant will be able to:

Identify global and domestic trends in vaccine preventable diseases
Describe VPD rates in the U.S. and current issues in viral vaccine preventable diseases
Explain the applications of the Meningitis rt-PCR assay and ways public health laboratories can access the test

P.A.C.E.® is accepted by all licensure states except Florida. This webinar will provide 1.0 contact hour for participants who successfully complete this training until December 1, 2022. After this date, you can no longer obtain P.A.C.E.® for this webinar.
