DESCRIPTION

This webinar will describe how APHL and CDC have partnered to offer a variety of laboratory fellowship programs to train and prepare scientists for impactful careers in public health laboratories and support public health initiatives. Fellows work collaboratively with industry leaders and developing professional networks. These experiential fellowship programs offer a competency-based core curriculum, while allowing fellows to gain a depth of understanding about a particular focus area.

OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of the program, the participant will be able to:

Describe the role of public health laboratories
Describe how fellows support public health infrastructure
Discuss the value APHL-CDC fellows bring to the public health workforce
Recognize projects appropriate for an APHL-CDC fellow

AUDIENCE

This program is intended for anyone who is interested in becoming a fellow, is an incoming fellow, is hosting or is interested in hosting an APHL-CDC fellow.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

The Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E.® Program, Florida and CPH-recertification. P.A.C.E.® is accepted by all licensure states except Florida. This webinar will provide 1.0 contact hour for participants who successfully complete this training until January 31, 2023. After this date, you can no longer obtain P.A.C.E.® for this webinar.
